Hot Rod History

  Grandpa Jack's interest in hotrods began with high school car clubs and street racing, followed by sanctioned drag racing, working at Arlington Raceway in Washington state, and also as an NHRA Tech Director and Division Director.  Jack's passion for hotrods and long history of involvement in racing contributed to the inspiration that led the family to create Thunder Road Customs.

Don has collected and customized cars since the 70's while working for an aerospace company as a model maker, machinist, inspector, and supplier quality assurance manager.  Don now applies his experience and skills to do what he loves most, 

car customization. 

His all time-time favorite car, a 1965 Buick Riviera Gran Sport, has been through multiple mods, the latest can be seen in the movie Fast & Furious 7.  

Engaged in, and inspired by, both their father and grandfather's passions, sons Dylan and Cole completed their own custom projects before they had drivers licenses.  They are excited to bring the next generation of creativity to customize cars, rat rods, and all that goes fast.  This family now combines their collective skills, knowledge and creativity to help clients achieve their own custom car dreams.
